Meet the Squad: A Personal Glimpse into Our Team

This month we would like to introduce you to Nicole Lichwick.

As Business Operations Manager, I work closely with Sarah Klein to ensure that all behind the scenes runs smoothly. I am excited to soon be celebrating a year with Nuvera, and all the growth we’ve experienced in that time -we’ve almost  doubled in size(!) and looking forward to what year two has in store.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on? Public speaking! If you’ve ever met me, you’d probably be surprised to learn I feel that speaking in front of groups is the stuff of nightmares. Owning our weekly team meeting has allowed me to begin to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position? I definitely think that people outside of our office would assume that those of us working on non-client facing projects (Hey, Sarah!) and the team that works directly with our clients (I’m looking at you, everyone else!) would feel like two separate entities, as I had thought it would prior to starting. However, I feel like a member of the team, always and love that our opinions and ideas are all weighted equally. It is my fave thing about working here, and what I always refer to when speaking with prospective candidates.

What’s your favorite sport to watch and which team do you root for? If I can’t be cheering (like a maniac) in person, I love watching televised marathons. I find the form and cadence of the lead pack mesmerizing. I will even watch the recorded coverage of a race I was witness to in person and, embarrassingly, often cry seeing people cross a finish line. Katherine Switzer, the first woman to run the Boston Marathon has been quoted as saying, “If you are ever losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon”. She is not wrong.

If watching a more traditional sporting event, I will 9 times out of 10 root for the underdog!

Who would play you in a movie about your life? I have been told that Racheal Harris would be a great fit to play me in the story of my life, based on the autobiographical book Shoes, A love story. They said it was a blond hair/black eyeglasses thing, but a small part of me fears it’s due to her portrayal of Melissa in The Hangover, “That is not how this works!”

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a busy day? Before crashing for the night with my husband and our dogs on the couch, I love a good sweat sesh! A run, or a class – I am equally obsessed with the Lagree Method and Baptiste Power Yoga. Anything that makes being anywhere but in the moment impossible is the perfect way to decompress. Plus, I love the sense of accomplishment that comes from leaving it all on the road/mat/mega.
